Mira fetched him without complaint. She guided him past Brink and into the shaded hollow, where Sora was counting the little ones through.
TurboTAD followed with sleeping weed. Sora pointed to an empty place without breaking her count. He set the bundle down and spread it wide.

At the shelf, Marno and Nibble had laid out wedges shaped during the travellers’ absence. Fresh material had hardened while the archive kept home’s old supports.
“The little catch first,” Marno told Finley. “Ease the pressure before we move the cover.”
Finley bent over the plate. “Two little catches. This mark belongs to the lower one.”
Nibble examined it, then exchanged the wedges he had placed nearest the shelf.
“Good thing you fetched the scratches.”
Zale leaned against a stone. “Everyone has become respectful of scratches since I carried them home.”
Vael pushed a fresh leaf towards him.
“Rest your heroic carrying flippers.”
Zale ate. Beside him, Finley held the plate where the builders could see it. The first small catch moved, exactly as its mark promised.
