Sora’s answer reached them while the wide gap lifted TurboTAD’s tail. 🫧

THE WAY HOME COULD HOLD 🌿
The fast traveller brought both warnings. “Two reeds and one collar are coming. No builders. No more seasoned reeds can leave until fresh ones harden. If the archive braces bend, close the opening.”
Three old junctions lay in a clean line beyond the wide opening. TurboTAD saw why Finley wanted it.
“Three braces,” Vael said. “Or the upper root takes the load.”
“The narrow opening reaches the archive from the side,” Finley replied. “We may lose the record order before we see it.”
TurboTAD swam into the wide mouth. The current caught him beneath the tail and lifted him towards a cracked rib. He pushed down until his flippers shook, but the root above gave a dry little creak through the water.
He backed out too quickly and clipped the stone lip.
Zale reached for him. TurboTAD waved him off, embarrassed and unhurt.
“We take the narrow approach,” he said.
Finley’s chart snapped in the flow. “You asked what the wide way costs. I haven’t finished answering.”
“Keep answering.” TurboTAD caught the chart edge before it folded. “I won’t spend home’s last supports proving I can force that gap.”
Vael studied the narrow mouth. “It may fail differently.”
“Then we learn where.”
Finley left the wider line open on his chart. “Do not call it disproved.”
“I won’t.”
At the narrow approach, Zale fastened an ordinary double loop around the homeward root. He swam past, turned, checked it once and moved aside.
TurboTAD entered. Finley followed, objection intact.
