Every stripe of daylight moved while TurboTAD waited for Sora’s nod. 🌿

THE FIRST MARK OUTWARD 🌱
Brink kept the older passage clear while Sora sent one group at a time through the new one. The lower brace stayed firm. Nibble’s woven cradle bowed, settled, and somehow avoided catching its inventor.
“It behaves better when I am not inside it,” Nibble said.
“Most building does,” Marno replied.
TurboTAD watched Sora check the final crossing. He wanted to leave before the sliding light stole more of their return time, but her condition had never been decoration.
The last group emerged. Sora pressed the cradle once, then cleared the opening.
Finley secured his chart. Zale divided the return weeds and passed half to TurboTAD.
“If I lose mine,” Zale said, “you may ask an uncomfortable question.”
“Only one?”
“We are conserving time.”
Sora met them at the outer root. “Word before the light leaves the second root tomorrow.”
“You’ll have it,” TurboTAD said.
He did not ask her to wait quietly. She did not ask him to stop being afraid.
Sora tied a plain message loop where home could see it. Then she moved aside.
TurboTAD, Glint, Zale and Finley travelled down the willow corridor. At each fork, Zale turned and viewed it from the returning side before fixing a mark.
Past the third root arch, the low stone lip pointed towards Far Reed Shelf.
Zale fastened their first outward double loop around the homeward root and tugged it once.
The four crossed beyond familiar nursery routes. Behind them, the little loop faced home.
