Brink chose the end where he could see the whole carrying bed. 🌿

THE TWO SHORT POLES 🌿
At the landing, Brink and Vael hung the woven cradle between the two spare short poles. Vael drew its corners snug, leaving the soft middle low.
Brink brought his end through the doorway. They tried the route back to the landing’s bend with a load heavier than Glint. Vael’s raised end hid his view; at Brink’s word, he lowered his grip. They returned to the chamber with the poles level and emptied the cradle.
Pip lined it with soft weed. He showed Glint where the injured flipper would rest and where his lantern could be secured beside the sound one.
Glint examined the bed.
“Can I see who’s in front?”
Vael lowered himself into the carrying position.
“Unfortunately.”
Glint gave him a tired smile.
TurboTAD cleared the passage. Finley wrapped the seed husk with the patient’s few belongings. Zale took the food ahead.
Pip stayed beside Glint while they moved him into the cradle.
